Primary Hepatocytes
Isolated Primary Hepatocytes have become widely recognised in the life sciences research community as a tool to investigate Liver behaviour in vivo. A key area in which hepatocytes have been employed is drug discovery and development. They have been employed to measure such processes as clearance, inhibition, induction, hepatotoxicity and increasingly, transporter function.
Abcellute Tissue Bank provides Fresh Human Hepatocytes. Our hepatocytes are not frozen but supplied fresh. The cells do not suffer from many of the deleterious effects caused by ultra-low temperature storage. The cells retain a clear morphology and, importantly retain the ability to attach
Cells are available in both Suspension and Monolayer format:
Suspension
- High Viability (typically in excess of 80%)
- Ideal for short terms studies
- Single Cells makes them easy to count
- Retain ability to attach
Pre-plated Monolayer
- Pre-plated for added convenience and ready to use
- Confluency in excess of 90%
- Ideal for longer term studies (Induction, Hepatotox applications)
- Cultured onto a substratum of your choice
