The proper governance of research on human tissue is essential to ensure that the public has confidence in, and benefits from, biomedical research. Abcellute Tissue Bank has devised a simple and pragmatic approach to supplying end-users of tissues and cells.
Abcellute Tissue Bank is able to supply human tissues to researchers without the need for a separate National Research Ethics Committee (NRES) application or a licence from the Human Tissue Authority. The Research Ethics Committee approval granted to ATB means that you are able to source human tissues from us using our internal Scientific Review Board application process, streamlining your documentation requirement whilst remaining completely compliant with all ethical and legal requirements in the UK.
The Process

- Application form.
- Tissue Transfer Agreement. We have a wealth of experience in ensuring that there is a clear agreement in place between Abcellute Tissue Bank and the end-user that describes [ ]
- Review by Scientific Advisory Board. We have appointed an independent Scientific Advisory Board that is responsible for overseeing the approvals for supply of human tissue to end-users. For example, the SRB takes into account ethical considerations that must be considered when supplying tissue or cells.
- Approval and supply. Once approved, Abcellute Tissue Bank adds the organisation to its list of approved end-users. We have appointed specialist couriers that have a proven track record in the successful delivery of tissue.
